Thanksgiving

The highlight of my Thanksgiving (other than the pecan pie I mentioned in my last post, which I’ve been fantasizing/obsessing/drooling about since Thursday…why don’t we make pecan pie more than once a year?!) was after dinner.  We lounged on couches and chairs and went around the room to say what we were thankful for.  No one seemed eager to start so I told Mary she should go first.  She wasn’t sure what to do so she just said, “I’m thankful!”  I explained, “One way to be thankful is thinking about who you love.”  She then proceeded to point to every person in the room and say, “I’m thankful, thankful, thankful, thankful…I love you.”  When it was Lila’s turn, she said, “I love my mommy, my daddy, and my stister Mary.  I’m thankful.”

I am so thankful for my family.  My daughters, husband, parents, siblings…they make my life complete.  And my wonderful friends who keep me sane.  And the fact that Kevin and I have jobs, a home, and everything that we need to live a happy, comfortable life.  What more could you ask for?

Other things I’m thankful for…pecan pie.  And my gym membership, made necessary by things like pecan pie.
